California State Capitol Annex
Originally built in 1952, the new California State Capitol Annex is undergoing a transformative redevelopment to enhance safety, modernize facilities, and ensure compliance with current state standards for government offices, public assembly, and accessibility. Once completed, the updated annex will span approximately 525,000 square feet, delivering a state-of-the-art workspace that meets the evolving needs of California’s government. The project also includes the construction of a new parking structure and a visitor’s center.
OSS has been an integral part of this ambitious effort, providing land surveying services that ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the construction process. The team has conducted post-pour surveys to verify structural alignment and post-pour anchor bolt surveys to assess precise anchor bolt placement. Additionally, OSS has performed plumb and elevation surveys, crucial for maintaining vertical and horizontal accuracy, along with cantilever TOS surveys, ensuring proper top-of-steel measurements.
Beyond field surveying, OSS has been actively engaged in project coordination, delivering reports and supporting seamless collaboration among teams. To further enhance accuracy, OSS has leveraged 3D laser scanning technology for comprehensive mapping of the shoring wall, reinforcing stability and structural integrity.
