Salt Lake City Terminal 2 Expansion Project
The Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is undergoing a transformative multi-year renovation, known as "The New SLC", aimed at modernizing its infrastructure and enhancing its capacity to accommodate increasing passenger traffic. With an estimated cost of $5.1 billion, this ambitious project is replacing the original airport facilities in phases to create a more efficient, visually engaging, and passenger-friendly experience.
OSS provided essential surveying and coordination services to ensure precision, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the construction process. The team managed survey control checks and initial move-in, establishing a baseline for all subsequent surveying work. They conducted pre-pour anchor bolt surveys and reports, followed by post-pour surveys to confirm alignment and stability after concrete placement. OSS also facilitated layout for steel erection plumb-up crews, ensuring columns were accurately positioned and fit together as designed. Additionally, the team performed AISC-compliant steel as-built surveys to verify structural integrity and proper installation.
